CSA - Community Supported Agriculture

CSA can also be called subscription farming.  It is a community of individuals pledging support to a farm operation. Growers and consumers provide mutual support, sharing the risks and benefits of local food production.  Members or shareholders of the farm, pledge or pay in advance to cover anticipated costs of the farm operation.  In return, they receive a weekly box or "share" containing bounty from the farm throughout the growing season.

Killarney Farm CSA

After many years of marketing our organic produce primarily through farmers’ market sales and our local Rose Lake farm stand, we have decided to also offer a CSA. Each weekly “share” will contain an assortment of our certified organic produce sufficient to feed a small family of moderate vegetable eaters or two very hearty eaters.

Be confident in knowing you will have fresh heathy organic produce that you can count on every week- straight from the source. The contents of the box will vary from week to week depending on the weather, seasonality, and availability, with smaller amounts in the first and last weeks of the season, and larger quantities during the peak. Initially, you can expect an assortment of salad ingredients as well as other fresh greens. As the season progresses the shares will include a wide assortment of the bounty of the harvest such as zucchini, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, peppers, beets, potatoes and berries. Most of the share will be familiar fare but there may be some new vegetables for you to try out. You may even discover new favorites!

Please note that we are unable to customize boxes for individual preferences (a perfect chance to try wonderful vegetables!) Also, at this time of the year we are only offering one size of share. If it is more than your household can consume in a week, we encourage you to arrange to split the share with another household (sharing is caring!). We are dedicated to your safety and will be providing Non-returnable boxes (bags!) each week to ensure the safety of our customers.

Members will have the option to pick up your box at the Saturday Kootenai County Farmers’ Market (Prairie and Hwy 95) drive through between 9:30am and 1pm or on Tuesdays at the Rose Lake Farm Stand (20 minutes east of Coeur d’Alene at the Junction of Hwy 3 and I-90) between 4:30 – 6:30 pm. You must elect to pick up either Saturday or mid-week for the entire season.

The CSA season will run for 20 weeks beginning the June 13 and ending in mid-October.

The cost for a share will be $636.00 (includes sales tax) for the season.

SORRY, WE ARE SOLD OUT FOR THE SEASON. To secure your share we must receive payment by May 31.  You can also choose to pay in two installments: $318 due May 31, with the remaining balance of $318 due by August 1.  If you would like a share but this payment schedule won’t work for you, please contact us to discuss alternatives.
